Kofi Annan said the solution to the continent's problems must come from within the continent. Africa countries must build up their institutions for the purpose of tackling contemporary challenges on the continent, including financing its institutions.

How can African countries, including Nigeria, encourage their Universities and other higher institutions of learning develop 'system-relevant' research that would impact the life of the average citizen in the areas of food security, health, education, leadership, infrastructure, etc?
